You may have heard of York Supplies. We’ve been in the news. Trading in the vibrant Birmingham suburb of Kings Heath since 1947, our very special hardware store and garden centre faced closure upon the retirement of the current owners.
Then our lovely customers stepped in and formed a co-op to save this unusual and much loved shop. They’ve raised the investment to buy the business and it will now be run by and for the community.
You will be the first manager of a hardware shop run by a co-op in England.
Do you have retail experience and a keen interest in DIY and/or gardening? Could you lead a small and dedicated team so our fantastically friendly and knowledgeable customer service is maintained? Can you drive sales and deliver new initiatives? Do you share our values of community service, kindness, localness, sustainability and ethical trading?
We really want to hear from you. We’ll be particularly interested if you can reflect one or more underrepresented aspects of our wonderfully diverse local community.
